About the Author
Stewanna Dasari is a career prosecutor in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG) and a former Harris County felony prosecutor. Her professional background includes work on a human trafficking task force and experience handling complex cases involving trauma, violence, and vulnerable populations.
She is the creator and host of the Minority Crimes podcast, a platform dedicated to bringing attention to cases involving marginalized communities that are often overlooked, underreported, or mischaracterized by mainstream media. Through thoughtful legal analysis and ethical storytelling, she challenges narratives that reduce people to headlines and works to ensure individuals are seen with accuracy, dignity, and humanity.
Her perspective is shaped by both professional experience and personal history. After losing her brother to violence and witnessing his story misrepresented, she became deeply committed to truth-centered storytelling and dignity-driven advocacy. That commitment now informs her writing, speaking, and public work.
